Information shared with your family

Family Circle stores and shares family names, profile photos, Board items, messages, and approved news, radio, and watch choices among the devices approved for that family. This information is stored on participating devices and replicated through the encrypted family connection. A person can leave a family; a Manager can remove a device or retire a family. These actions stop future access but cannot remotely erase copies already stored on another approved device.

Calls and Remote Help

Camera, microphone, and screen-sharing access are used only for active, user-approved family calls and Remote Help. Family Circle does not record calls or screen shares. WebRTC media is encrypted between participants; a configured TURN service may relay encrypted traffic.

On Android, optional remote taps use Accessibility only to send a helper-selected tap during an approved active Remote Help session. Family Circle does not read screen content and the native service rejects taps outside that session.

Third-party requests

When you request local weather, an approximate foreground location is sent to Open-Meteo. Managers may choose RSS feeds and YouTube links; requests to those providers are governed by their policies. Family Circle does not sell personal information.

Diagnostics and retention

Family Circle keeps bounded, support-safe diagnostics locally. They exclude pairing codes, family keys, media, addresses, and URLs. Battery, storage, permission state, app/build information, and support-safe event codes may be shown privately to approved family members for support.

Support-site analytics

This support website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page visits. It does not use cookies or track people across websites. Vercel processes limited page, referrer, device, browser, and approximate location information for this purpose; the Family Circle mobile app does not use this website analytics service.
